Porsche Silverstone Driving Day
Discussion
My father has been invited along to a Porsche Driving day at Silverstone on Monday 11 June and I'm going with him
The letter says they'll be 5 cars in the current range to drive. Lunch is provided and it looks like the sales offensive will be in full swing!
Is anyone else going along? Any ideas what I can expect of the day (hopefully a drive in a GT3RS but I digress!)

Not going to this one, but I'm assuming this billed as a "Range Day"?
I did one a year or so ago. Very good day which involved:
Panamera on local roads for about an hour taking in turns with my guest to drive (with instructor also in the car)
Cayenne on the off road "circuit" - Steep hills, small canal type effort etc.,
Boxter S on the kick plate, Cayman S on the ice hill (me in the car taking it in turns with my guest, instructions over walkie talkie)
C2S and C4S on the b-road handling circuit with an instructor.
Also very good lunch and a tour of the "human performance centre" where they embarassingly measured my fat content..........
Doubt very much there will be any GT3 action, but my experience of the place is that it isn't a hard sell, just an opportunity for them to make a good impression......

Did one with the missus a while back (a drive the range day).
They'll split you into groups that take it in turns to:
1. Tour the Experience centre and have a go, if you're lucky, on that bat attack game thing. The highest score, when I was there, got a few laps in a GT3RS (passenger only I think, and the f
ker that won owned one already!)
2. Kick plate/ice hill in Caymans and Boxsters (you'll swap between both, some PDK, some not)
3. Handling circuit and low-grip circuit in 911s
4. Road driving in a Cayenne and passenger off road in a Cayenne
5. Road driving in a Panamera (split into small groups of 2 or 3 for the road driving)
Was a good day - though the road driving was really just filler between hooning in 987s and 997s. Lunch was nice too - highly recommended if you're not too far away from Silverstone.
