Collected a new to me 2002 boxster on Friday, went to London last night and whilst sat in traffic it dumped most of it's water on the road, refilled it today and heater doesn't get warm, water overflows out of expansion tank and can here what sounds like water boiling in engine, any ideas on what could be, water pump, head gasket or thermostat ?

It sounds like you now have an airlock, what caused the initial coolant loss is anyone's guess.

There's little point in suggestions, you just need to get the car to a specialist for proper diagnosis.

Preferably on the back of a truck rather than under its own steam (see what I did there?).

It is pumping water out of expansion tank, I have had the bleed valve open, but still not cured it but can here boiling water in the engine, but heater not getting hot and temp gauge only reading 80.

I hope not but it could be a head gasket failure. You did get some sort of warranty.
