Trying to find out some info for my boss

His Boxster wouldn't start this morning on its own. It needed to be jumped. It had only been left for a few days.

It could be the battery, but it could be the alternator. I have a multimeter with me, and am going to test it at lunch.

What voltage should I be expecting to find?

I fear you're not going to diagnose much if you have to ask that wink

it's 12/13 and it should rise when the engine is running if the alternator is providing charge.. THis link should help http://www.ehow.com/how_5806933_diagnose-dead-batt...

A healthy battery should show approx 12.5 volts possibly a little higher
