Hans Compatible? 996 GT3.2 clubsport seat
Discussion
I may have been mis informed then - just need to buy one with the correct recline angle then? Prob 20 degree
Recline:
10 Degree - For upright seating postions
20 Degree - For saloons and sports cars
30 Degree - For most formula and single seaters including Radical
40 Degree - For formula cars with very steep recline seating. Eg Formula 1

HANS compatible seats have belt hole size/spacings that ensure everything can be fitted and worn properly, while also guarantees there will enough space between the back of the helmet and the seat for the HANS to fit.
This in no way means that you can't use HANS with a seat that isn't specifically compatible, just there may be issues in terms of comfort or fitting.
In practice any decent single purpose race seat (ie fixed back and without an adjustable head rest) will work just fine.
The clubsport recaros work just fine with one. The seat headrest is a bit closer to the HANS than on my OMP HANS compatible seat and can sometimes touch against it but nothing that's significant. If you've not bought a HANS yet make sure you get one with sliding tethers.

Im no sure that Hans on track days is a great plan. you need to bee very aware of the space around you especially if you are in a GT2 at a trackday. I had the same problem driving in the in the Porsche open where closing speeds are a real issue. When you are trying to deal with 20 seconds a lap speed differences, you need to be able to know exactly what is around you at all times and hans does not help. I wear Hans in Carrera Cup where closing speeds are a lot less silly and a quick glance in the mirrors is all that is needed but not in series like GT Cup where you need to know exactly whats around you because of the silly closing speeds. Most 911 prangs end up with a rear end impact. For a track day in a Gt2, I think a hans Device may prove more of a hindrance than a help.
