This is a 85 porsche 944 first generation (square dash cluster). I have been working on for a couple weeks now. It needed many things to get it running. Now that I have got it running it only runs at idle and bery poorly. At times it would jump up to the 1000 rpm but it would drop back to idling rough. I have found the TPS faulty on the idle end switch. I pulled it out cleaned it up only to find it was set improperly. I reinstalled it to the correct idle setting. it clicks at idle and continuity is there. WOT is also ohming out properly. I have narrowed it down to the IACV and the air bypass valves in the throtle body and the airflow sensor. What I would like to know is what would be a good starting point for setting the air flow bypass metering screws. I have a new IACV on order but I am also curious as to how fast the bimetallic reacts to the voltage when applied. I checked my old one for continuity and that was good. I applied voltage and I saw no reaction even after several minutes. I suspect the bimetallic blade quit working. I destroyed it to see if there was anything else to discover. While I apply voltage to it the coil heats up but the blade still doesn't move.
I have posted info for 85 944 won't start at this thread if you need more info.
