Had the boxster spyder coming up 2 years now and the warranty extension letter just dropped through my letter box.

It is just coming up to 5000 miles and over the next 2 years, don't really see it doing more than the same again.

Think I've decided in my head that I will keep it at the very least for another two years and maybe more.

Didn't bother doing it with the cayman s which I had for 4 years and nothing went wrong.

The car is well looked after, not abused.

Do many people extend their warranty? I just don't think in the circumstances a 4 year old Porsche should present major issues.

Looking at what is excluded also seems to rule most things out which would likely go wrong and you pay out for.

£1600 is a lot just to keep the paranoia at bay.

I personally would take it out, but that's me.

I think £800pa represents excellent value for money when you consider
what could go wrong, no matter how small the odds. IMHO

Something out of the ordinary could happen - for example my tracker failed....... £1350 new one under fitted under warranty.

It's a gamble that could go either way yes

My 911 is due a warranty extension in a few months and it's 4 years old. If it was a manual car I'm not sure I would bother, but it's PDK and I don't fancy the repair costs if the gearbox goes belly-up: I've seen estimates for a new 'box of £15K. For that reason alone, it's worth it to me for the insurance peace of mind.

This is the critical point really. If you spend the money and nothing happens then you've technically lost out, but if something does happen you'll soon find that annual cost swallowed up in labour & parts costs.
