GT3 RS 4.0 @ Dick Lovett

I'm not sure of my facts but I thought OPCs couldn't sell used cars above list price. Dick Lovett are an OPC in Swindon and Bristol and have listed a GT3 RS 4.0 on here for £190K!! through their 'Dick Lovett Sporting' arm. If I'm correct in my original assumption on OPC used car pricing, are DL not in violation of this obligation? Any thoughts?

If anyone has or knows of a RHD GT3 RS 4.0 being offered for sale at non-speculator pricing? I'm in the market for a private purchase to keep for my own use. Please let me know if you can help.

As its being sold via the "sporting" garage,this is not part of any OPC,its part of the group,so thats the price.

As an aside, I remember a recent article in Autocar where they compared a base 997 Carrera against a 997 GT2 RS, to see if it's really worth £100k more. IIRC they concluded it was (kind of).

Looking at the two 997 GT3 RS's for sale there on Dick Lovetts site, the 4.0 at £190k and an almost comparable 3.8 RS at £99k, you really wonder whether the £100k premium can be justified in this case.

Thanks for your valuable response SM. I'm currently trying to sell my late father's house and it looks like that's exactly what I'll have to do if I want to sell quickly. Care to bid?

I'm not that naive to try to get a 'cheap' RS 4.0, I'm just trying if possible to avoid the speculator markup by buying privately if any current owners are considering selling that's all.

If you mean the DL one I'm interested but not at £190K. I'm aware of another one, white with red interior trim which is my preferred option, at quite a bit less than that. Just interested to see what else comes up before deciding my next move.

OPCs aren't allowed to sell new cars above list, but can do what they like with used ones.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess that makes sense otherwise the OPC would be unfairly disadvantaged against the independent competition for used cars.
