Anyone know what the average waiting list for a new Cayenne is? Will drop into OPC on Saturday, keen to go forewarned.

Also, what's the average sales price? I'm looking at approx £55k, does that sound high/average/low?

Take it you are looking for a diesel?

If so, £55k about right.

You could be looking at Dec delivery.

If you order now you should be looking at mid October for a diesel, and if the BiTDI is on stream by then you could be lucky enough to drop for one of those. You'd have to be pretty damn lucky though.

Get yourself behind the wheel of a turbo for a test drive, and remember "don't knock it until you've tried it".

Porsche have done an amazing job with this car. The KN turbo is such fun to drive between London & France when it's load carrying time. My 911 turbo is the preference when I am on my own but there is no better way to drive across Europe when taking the family.

It's still like driving a 911 on stilts. Sure footed, great power and very re assuring.

Whats one of those now? New upgrade to th basic Diesel, or an expensive alternative?

Its the new Audi 3.0 V6 twin scroll turbo diesel engine that has just broken cover in the A6. Porsche will be introducing it into the Cayenne (whether in Diesel 'S' form or not - who knows) and Panamera probably late this year. It 'should' be replacing the existing 3.0 V6 to keep the Cayenne D competitive (performance wise) with BMW's latest offerings.
I don't know if Porsche will wave their performance wand over it or leave it in its already potent setup.

Based on my recent experience I would also estimate October delivery.... and good things are worth waiting for!

According to my OPC the whisper is that the Cayenne Diesel S will be a V8 and will be announced late this year with delivery around Spring 2013. They had no info or timings on the biTurbo.

Yes, I was told last night at my local OPC Boxster thingy the very same thing. The V8 diesel is coming to the Cayenne, sooner rather than later.
The present V6 unit will eventually be replaced by the V6 BiTDI unit.

2 month wait for arguably their most popular vehicle isn't a good sign for the car market!

It isn't arguably their most popular vehicle....it IS their most popular vehicle.

And that July delivery must be somebodys cancelled build slot. I can't imagine the third shift at Leipzig has made 'that' much difference.

No, it's not cancelled. They've always had it. I was told there is at least one slot per month available between now and end of year

I ordered at beginning of February and most recent update (last week) was still for July build with delivery late July/early August. Please could you advise who quoted you delivery date for July. Thanks.
