944 Engine Dimensions

Hi, possible strange request - but can anyone tell me the size of the 2.5l engine in a Porsche 944? (as in external dimensions - don't say "two point five litres" 
I have a friend who has been asked to make a coffee table out of one, but he needs to know the size before he can work out a plan.
Does anyone know the rough external dimension of the engine (ideally just the block) or know any good resources where I might be able to find the information? - Google has let me down so far!
Not sure how this is going to work out, seeing it is a "slant" engine isn't it?

- Don't worry - I have told my mate he had better make sure he sources an un-servicable engine for this project, if he destroys a decent car to make a coffee table I will be more than a little miffed!
