FSH, engine mounts, rust inside rear arches, exhaust condition and heatshields, rust around front and rear screens (bubbling?) door check strap condition on both doors, everything works electrical, equal shut lines (they are wide to start with but should be equal, compare either side of car, and especially bonnet and boot). Push on rear bumper to see if theres much flex (rotton PU stays?) Smoke from exhaust, blue under revs is usually bad. ...... bit of smoke on cold startup not so bad but should clear nearly straight away. Creaking windscreen, some do some don't (mine does and its annoying so will cost me ££s to put right)
Drive her up to around 60 and brake (reasonably gently) and if the wheel shakes in your hand as you slow down but then clears its a good chance the front wishbones are on there way out .... £500 for the parts plus fitting for new ones. £180 each for recons.
Don't worry too much ref mileage and the engine if shes been looked after. ie serviced on time etc.

Lots of sensible advice there, mileage wouldn't worry me at all - it's only a number, so long as the car itself is OK or whatever it would take to get it there is easily quantifiable - just as with a 993 of any mileage really. However, I had the wishbone bushes on mine swapped for poly ones which were about £90 (and improved the drive too), so hardly a deal breaker on a 15-19 year old car.

Absolutly, just didn't want to get that indepth. Interested ref the £90, is that fitted to one or both or just supply? Does it harsh up the ride? Further who did it, mine are pretty worn and something for next winter for replacement.

Thanks, thats all good stuff! I think a preinspection is probably the way to go....just to be sure. Good to here that with a FSH ,the mileage is just a number though!

I'm not a great lover of inspections personally. But each to their own.
All of the above you can check yourself quite easily and save a few ££s

As others have said, 150K on a 993 engine is no reason for concern. Normal rules apply, buy on overall condition. I would recommend getting an inspection.
