PORSCHE PCM2 FIRMWARE UPDATE

HELP NEEDED
Can someone please assist me with how to update the firmware on a PCM2 running version 2 firmware.
The problem I have is that I am trying to hook up a Tooki blue tooth unit and it won't work. The Tooki has been back to Nav TV and had the latest software instaled, it's been tested and is working ok. If I hook it up to the PCM it does recognise something as I get an extra line on the menue screen when pressing MAIN & TRIP saying telephone with a row of question marks, what it won't do is search for the Tooki unit. I beleive it is probably down to the firmware version I am using. Any help please if you have experienced the same problem or can shed any light on how to upgrade the firmware to version 3. I'm not that bothered about updating maps, just the firmware.

IIRC, the update was a 2-disc process. The first is the actual software to prep the update and the second was the map disc. I could be mistaken, but you couldn't use the existing map disc with the updated firmware. They were considered a matched pair.

How do you know that the PCM needs the update to run the Dension? What version are you running atm?

I've had a similar problem, updating a PCM2.0 unit from V2 to V3 which had a Tooki fitted. The update failed, because it conflicted with the Tooki. I made a special update CD which ignored the phone module, and updated the rest of the system. If you would like a copy, drop me a PM with your address, and I'll pop it in the post.

Edit: If it didn't have a phone module originally, you will need to have the PCM coded to add one. If you are anywhere near me (Maidenhead, Berks) I could do that for you too.

Hi Richard, I am looking to update my PCM 2.1 software from version a to b using the porsche multimedia update cd 1 however I too have the tooki telephone fitted! Does this update conflict in the same way yours did from a to b or will this update work? Many thanks for your advice!
