Good 993 C2/4S are creeping up on the continent, this one have a lot of nice mods, but 70k GBP seems a little steep.... That said though, I am looking for a 993 Turbo and about to accept that a good one with reasonable miles will be 65 - 70k Euros. Should have bought one a few years ago rather than hesitating

If it’s got the provenance suggested then it will be worth a premium to someone (but certainly not £70k IMHO).
I think the biggest mark against it commanding "collectors car" status is the mileage. If it had been a 25k minter then a few people would have been salivating over this.
As it is, the car is a used 993, albeit in good nick with a good history.

Was this the 993 that was crashed (slightly) when tested by one of the magazines of the period?
I seem to remember there were photos of the car in a small ditch, it was definitely a 993 3.8 with a Porsche Motorsport 3.8 conversion.
Performance Car fishtailed a 911 with Techart upgrades into a shallow ditch (John Barker driving?). Not sure if same car.I seem to remember there were photos of the car in a small ditch, it was definitely a 993 3.8 with a Porsche Motorsport 3.8 conversion.

Mmmm, if my memory serves me well (It does fail me at times), that very car was put in a hedge by CAR magazine? Or was it Performance Car?
Much later, I seem to remember reading that one of the 'testers' used a full bottle of T-Cut trying to hide the evidence.
Andrew Frankel maybe?
In any event, the price is on the high side of La La Land.

EDIT - Just noticed the magazine pics on the advert! It was Performance Car!!!!

Yes it is the car that John Barker put into a ditch. I worked with the guy who bought this car in circa '95 or '96 (Simon.. forget his last name). He sold a classic Corvette Stingray and a 3.2 Carrera to buy this. I had the issue of Perfomance Car at home with the JB article and gave it to him - he was still heppy to buy the car after reading it.
