Correct wheel name/model???
Discussion
Winter wheels are not common place in the UK so you may have to look overseas.
However This set of Porsche928 winter wheels were advertised for sale a while ago and might still be available.
Porsche 928 winter wheels and let Google be your friend. Probably worth looking in the images as well if you are looking for advertised wheels.
Good luck

Might be worth looking at http://www.clubgti.com/ to see if someone there could help.
Lots of Mk2 owners fit Porsche rims for some reason. I think original looks better, though these do look a little like the Montreal alloys of later GTis.
I have BBS RA on mine; Mk2s are great!

From what I can work out winter wheels tended to be thinner than the usual so it'd be a 7j and 8j instead of a 7 and 9. They would also be 'less spokey' and more enclosed as per the image. I'm guessing this is to reduce the amount of snow and slush build up on the wheel causing balance issues and also to keep the brake temp up??
I could of course have just made all that up!

What is a 'winter wheel'?
MTR
Generally one which is offered by a manufacturer but which is of a size which only takes the recommended winter tyre sizes for a specific model yet does not fit the OE recommended summer tyre sizes and isn't shared with another model that does. Hence 'winter wheel' as the only thing that you can ever mount on it within manufacturer specifications is a winter tyre. The recommended winter wheel for the BMW M3 is another case, as is the 997.2 GT3 (the latter is the same style, but a smaller width as winter 19s only go up to 295s. Due to being a centre lock for a narrow body offset it is not within recommended spec for any other car or tyre {though objectively you would be quite safe to put the standard 305s on it, the factory says that the OE 12j wheel should be used for those}. On the BMW the offsets mean that the wheel set is recommended only for winters and only on the M3 or 1M).MTR
That's as I understand it anyway...

The hot hatch kids are buying these old 928 wheels, getting them refurbed then putting them on Corsa's with adapter kits. This could be a good or a bad thing, they will eventually go out of vogue and they get fed up with them and sell them on, hopefully back to a Porsche owner to get them back in to the classic 'system', or they could just curb, buckle and damage the wheels ending up scrapping them.
