Bilstein PSS10

Hi Folks,
Just bought some Bilstein PSS10 coilovers for my 2002 C2.
Once I fit them, is there anything else to consider? Will the car wear tyres any differently/need any camber/caster adjustment etc?
Cheers

Keith, you will need a full geo done to set these up. Tyre wear is going to be dependent on what camber etc you want to run. We run these on 996s a lot and it is really customer dependent on what settings you want. Great choice btw.Just bought some Bilstein PSS10 coilovers for my 2002 C2.

It isn't possible to properly fit them yourself unless you have access to toe/camber/ride height aligners and cornerweighting equipment. The car will be a death trap unless all these are properly sorted as part of the installation. You will also need to decide on the ride heights you are going to use (and why) and the geo/setup you want/need to provide the handling you require.Just bought some Bilstein PSS10 coilovers for my 2002 C2.

I can't urge you strongly enough to go to a proper suspension specialist (Center Gravity would be my first recommendation) who will go through all of the options with you and set up the car so it does what you want and performs in a way that compliments your abilities as a driver.
In addition to 'fitting' the coilovers, you will need to have the rest of the suspension on the car properly overhauled. There will doubtless be bushes and mounts (and likely steering arms) on a 10-year-old car that are in sh*t state. As the loads on the suspension will be a lot higher with the coilovers installed, the PSS-10s will ruthlessly expose the slightest wear and prevent the suspension specialist from doing a proper geo. In addition, any play will have serious adverse effects on the car's handling.
So much for the downsides - the upside is that the car, once fettled and properly set-up with the Bilsteins, will be a total revelation. I put Bilstein coilovers on my last Porsche (997S.1) and the difference was beyond unbelievable - very taut body control, super-sharp turn-in, less body roll, great adjustability through a corner, almost no understeer, vastly improved overall grip, no bobbing up and down at the front - you get the picture. However, you will get NONE of these benefits without the overhaul and setup referred to above.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your advice and help.
Would the same detailed setup be required when fitting bilstein shocks along with the eibach -30mm springs?
Cheers
Keith
Yes, definitely. Anything that alters any suspension setting will have a knock-on effect on all the other suspension settings. A full geo is a fundamental, integral and essential part of any suspension upgrade. The same goes for a proper suspension/steering overhaul. Mixing expensive new suspension components (irrespective of what they are) with worn, existing parts makes no sense whatsoever and negates many of the advantages you are looking for.Would the same detailed setup be required when fitting bilstein shocks along with the eibach -30mm springs?

Edit: Also bear in mind that the standard suspension settings will no longer be optimal in a lowered, stiffened setup. You will need a properly-knowledgeable suspension specialist to recommend a setup that works with the new components.

Centre gravity fitted bilstein pss10 suspension to my 964 and completely transformed the handling. Took it to Bedford for my first track day and the instructor, who presumably sits in lots of cars, kept quizzing me about how the car maintained so much grip. Pleased or what! Pss10 and set up by centre gravity is the way to go in my opinion.
