996 tt Turbo Heat Sheilds
Discussion
Hi guys
I know it's a common problem which I need to get fixed.
the heat shields around the 2 turbos have corroded and rattle. 1 of the rear section straps is corroded as well with the bolt broken from corrosion. I had the car on a ramp in a friends place and it looked like the back of the car 9lights and bumper) needs to come off with the exhaust to get at the brackets, is this the case?
I'm in Hertfordshire, anyone else had this done at a place local to me? And any idea on labour would be great. I've found the parts online.
Many thanks

Alright mate,
Just had mine done and all the Turbo / exhaust bolting.......Had new Turbo's and oil pipework fitted at the same time.
Part costs for the sheilds and bolting isn't much, sheilds are about £36 each. Which is a lot for what they are, but I'm not sure of any kind of alternative, other than do without. But you'd need to increase the sheilding elsewhere?
Think Ken does something like this at 9E.
Labour depends on the state of your existing bolts and how long it takes to remove them. Can be a nasty job.
Had mine done at Redline Racing in Stockton, nowhere near you unfortunatley. But they did an amazing job.
