Good fit car cover for 997 Turbo?

Hi, I've returned three general fit or semi-tailored 997 Turbo covers recently. Each time the supplier said it would fit the car but each time too short and/or too low (so didn't make it to the ground)...

does anyone have a cover that actually fits their car properly?

Specialised car covers. Absolutely first-class product. Stretch material cover was tailored to fit my GT3 perfectly. When dealing with them they were very helpful over the phone; sent through loads of samples etc.

Get ready for all the negative posts on covering your car though! I unfortunately don't have a garage and my parking slot was near a tree, so a good car cover was an essential purchase. Because I keep my car clean it has not harmed it at all. It has however protected it from sap, bird sh*t, leaves and other bits of foliage, and the elements of course!

As above. I brought a Specilised outdoor cover for my 996 a year ago (circa £400). Fantastic. Always put back onto a clean car and has kept it immaculately even through some hideous recent weather. Not sure that you'll get one to touch the deck though, as it'll pick up dirt and grime to then put back onto the car........

Internal or external cover?

I got an internal cover from Classic Additions tailored perfectly for my 996 Turbo. Very high quality and you get to choose the colours, piping, door mirror contrasts, etc. From memory about £250 delivered.

Sorry guys, I should have said - I need an outdoors breathable cover with a soft inner lining. Amazingly Porsche don't sell outside covers. I've tried the ones mentioned above - good material but don't fit a 997T coupe. I can show you the photos!

Porsche do sell them, I bought one last November from silverstone Porsche. 996 turbos have been discontinued on out door covers though?.
Seems if you own one you are expected to have a garage.

Well I've tried, and returned, three covers - all good quality but poor (or really poor) fits and FYI, these were from well know brands and were sold as "fully fitted". Ended up with a Halford's outdoors - a third of the price. OK it's not fitted, but it FITS the car - happy camper

FYI, go for the Advanced All Seasons in Extra Large at £68 for the wide body Pork. A bit long but comes with front and rear straps so ties down nicely

Did you try Specialized Car Covers as one of the three brands?
If so i'm surprised to hear that their cover didn't fit properly. Mine is utterly superb and fits my GT3 like a glove.

I've been very happy with California Car Covers. They make an outdoor cover (Weathershield) that is water resistant but not waterproof. It will get waterlogged in a downpour but the best thing is that it is machine washable and can be quickly tumble dried and stored in the boot without taking up all the room. There are tailored and cover the car properly.

+1. Perfect for outdoor use, breathable and do not fade/damage under sun light - and cheap from Halfords. I previously used the Argos ones but these seem to damage under sunlight.

Also used www.cover-zone.com. These fit like a glove for at least indoor use but not tried the form fit nor outdoor ones.

Flea bay is another good source of people getting rid of Porsche fit covers. Make sure you get the gen right or mirror pockets may not fit ....

To resurrect this thread, do any of the covers recommended here (or any others) have the option of having a clear window to display tax disc, parking permit, etc while the cover is on the car?

I've no option but park on the street, but the local foxes seem to have a habit of climbing on the car so need something pretty resilient to save the paintwork from any more damage - looking at a possible respray on the bonnet already. Have looked at Stormforce but wondered what else was suitable? If the manufacturer throws in a free pack of hounds, or a shotgun, then even better!!
