Lost my egine on track to apparent oil starvation despite good levels, pressure and temp. Looking for a new engine or a rebuild but am anxious to avoid a replay!

Any ideas? Can you get baffled sumps? How do the race cars survive?

Two options: firstly you can have baffles added to your sump by someone who knows the cars and knows what he is doing, Id suggest Kevin Eacock. The second option would be to fit a device which is filled with oil under pressure, which acts as a reserve if the pump sucks air; this will probably come from America (Accusump etc).

Id do both.

Kev (EMC) may be able to bring your existing engine back to life. Id certainly speak to him or Alex before buying a replacement for the best part of £2,000; and who really knows what youre getitng for that?

Eh? That at all sounds wrong to me. Something else must be wrong. I was part of the EMC team that did the Britcar 24hr. No issues at all. And legaleagel ran the car for a season of straight off the back of that.
I have previously lost an engine through the oil pickup pipe splitting (known issue). Speak to EMC, Kevin will put you back on the road without having your trousers down in the process.

Never heard of a 968 having oil issues on track. I think the oil pick is susceptable to vibration though as per Nurb singh. Search on google brings up eng mounts worn, balance belts mis aligned and DMF worn as usual culprits of cracked oil pick up pipe.

There is a large plastic baffle chamber sat in the sump already.

Are you running an oil cooler?

From their website: "At EMC Motorsport we usually have several projects on the go - at present (mid 2009)...". Are they still in business?
