I'm seriously considering a new Cayenne Diesel.

How likely it is that an Official Porsche Centre will offer a discount?

Unlikely.

6 month waiting list.

Good luck though great choice BTW.

I concur - highly unlikely. Last Sunday I was told delivery for a diesel would be October earliest. On the bright side residuals should be quite healthy for the next year on good condition used ones (if you decide to go that way). This will probably change though when the Macan appears in Oct 2013.

You can negotiate a discount.

I wasn't expecting much if at all, but if others have managed a discount then I might try harder.

I suspect even a discount via finance would be tough - the website suggests 25% is the maximum deposit too.

Interestingly Drivethedeal suggests a discount of £221, which is better than nothing.

I was also offered an October build.

Rather than a discount off the price or finance you're more likely to be able to get some options at no cost I think. Worth a shot.

Ordered my Cayenne D last October and they wouldn't even throw in the mats, citing it was an 'invoicable item'. All I managed to skank was a touch-up stick and an extra set of locking wheel nuts to help protect the Turbo alloys from the hoody brigade. They also gave me 20% discount on the rear bike carrier but that was it.

Porsche salesman are trained from birth to recognize when somebody really likes a vehicle and then to systematically drain every last penny from them without mercy. A bit like all car salesmen, but without hiding it.

Good luck.

I'd agree with the above. I haggled the monthly on PCP, and once they had got as low as they would go, asked for them to throw in the 250 odd quid compass/clock on the dash...

I managed a full tank of petrol on a new Boxster, but there was reluctance even for that!

We got nothing off the Cayenne Diesel we have ordered for end oct delivery, but we managed to fix a decent (in context of OPC deals) future part exchange figure on the RR. I got a fair chunk off the GTS new, but that was because the 991 was out so they were keen as mustard to move them.
