I am due my first service on my CS this weekend and asked my Local authorised Porsche dealer what is the fixed price service reduced to if I supply my own oil.

The response I received was,

A Porsche Approved Centre such as ours are unable to use oil provided by customers I’m afraid. We are committed to using Castrol oil products and we are controlled by very strict guidelines on this.

I have other friends who supply oil on the service as we get it cheaper than the dealer, it's usually not a issue as long it's the same flavour of oil that Porsche are using this year. Are they just trying to pull the wool here or has something changed that I am not aware of...?

Your oil Is not the same as the Porsche centre. They have their own oilwell In the Emirates and the supply of oil Is very very special, so much so they collect It In "N" shaped oil drums.
This oil was made 10 million years ago with your engine In mind. Tell them to poke It and go to a good Indie.
Your alternative Is to bend over and...............well you know the rest.

Are they a Dick Loving type dealeship?

Try elsewhere, I believe its only the Dick Lovet franchise that are tied to Castrol. The rest of the network seem more obsessed with Mobil 1

It's Silverstone. I know Reading will let me use my own, will go to them if Silverstone don't play ball. Simples.

Aberdeen are/were the same, they wouldn't allow me to use my own Mobil 1. BUT I did get a decent discount on the oil they did use so it was all that painful.

Turns out it is a Sytner Group decision, so down to Hatfield Porsche for me. Silverstone are using Castrol now. They are obviously using there buying power to get it cheap and trying to dictate that you can't use your own oil to keep the profit margins up. If I supply my own Mobil 1, it saves me £100 on the service price. Not much I know, but it's down to the principle now.
