My 996 Targa (52) only covered 31000, give me a fright today when started it after doing a few miles during the day.
Recently theres an ongoing air leak around the nearside front wing, but today its got louder and also engine revs without even applying the accelerator, it would go up to 1700 - 2000 rpm along with my heart racing along with the fright of that, to bring the rpm down i need to apply accelerator, then it would go revving up again. engine get a little shaky too during the this time, but l did managed to drive home.
Now i everytime i start the car the engine revs up again without with me doing anything.

Im wondering if the air leak has got anything to do with the revving.

Guys i would appreciate if you've had the same as above or solution to problem.

I'd be pretty sure it's the air leak causing it... Defo need to get it looked at!
