Ok. So these are nice cars and there were not that many of them. And this one looks a really nice example.
But £45k?
Ah come on..... having a laugh.... arn't they?

Why not if E30 M3's with 40k miles are advertised for £50k + imo the 924GT is a more desirable car.
Possibly, but the market for far and away the most exotic 924 is minuscule compared to that for what remains BMW's most iconic M car short of the M1. The price of the 924 probably isn't unreasonable, but there probably aren't a dozen people in the country who are seriously prepared to pay it. As ever with threads like this, there will be a lot more people who say they would pay it that would actually would...GreatGranny said:

+1.Considering, I knew a guy who purchased one back in the mid 90's for £15k, which is all of sixteen years ago if not more and there's less available now, I reckon a good one is a £30k plus car all day long. So, that 'minter' is imo worth the asking price.

The 924 GT is the 'best car i have ever driven' according to Walter Rohrl.
Quite a pedigree - £45k quite cheap - in 10 years, it'll be £100k to get into one of these
depends when he said it. If it was in the early 80's then it could quite easily have been overtaken by the 964RS for example. Quite a pedigree - £45k quite cheap - in 10 years, it'll be £100k to get into one of these
In case anyone missed the Derek Bell 924 GTS PH piece...

As a boy on the way to the British Grand Prix we stopped for fuel in a small garage. There was a red 924 GT parked at one side. As an eleven year old (ish) I went up to the car and cupped my hand to the window and I am convinced it had a plaque saying something along the lines of "presented to .... in recognition of victory in the 19.. Le Mans". This is about 30 years ago and I was an excited child so I can't be sure. More recently I had assumed it was Derek Bell's but the plaque is never mentioned on any tests i've read of the car so maybe I drempt it, or it was someone elses.

Had I mentioned that I was negotiating to buy the Earl of March's 937 in April/May 2000?

I wish Id paid the £12,000 asking price now, for what was undoubtedly the best working 924 Carrera GT available. At the time I thought that it was £2,000 too expensive though...
The link took a while to opne, but that really is a cracking car isnt it? It probably isnt a bad price for a car in that condition, although its too good and too expensive to use properly.
Want.
