Advice Request: improving the sound of my Panamera Diesel?
Discussion
Hi folks! This is my first post in the Porsche Forums after spending a month putting a few thousand miles on my first Porsche: a Panamera Diesel. It's a great all round car, handles perfectly, is super practical, beautifully furnished, really powerful and immense MPG...
BUT -
I am still left wondering, can anyone suggest any options to make it sound a bit, erm... LOUDER!?
Eg: I had the opportunity of a nice stretch of long empty tunnel the other day, and felt the need to wind down the windows, drop the hammer and check my heart was still beating. Having previously enjoyed the life affirming thunder of a Spitfire like attack of an AM Vanquish, the banshee like screams of a TVR Cerbera and a Ferrari fitted with a roaring Tubi-Style tail pipe, etc, I was left rocketing along in near perfect, stealth like silence. While this was admittedly at a very fair pace; in third gear, in sport mode, I could hear almost nothing. To be honest, I find it's even hard to use the manual shift gears (on the steering wheel), as it's difficult to hear the engine rev tones. (And only when the wife asks me to clean the kitchen do I have hearing difficulties
).
Can anyone suggest any options for after market pipes that will work with a Panamera Diesel, or is this the wager I have made in exchange for uber fuel efficiency and practicality*???
THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!
Joel, Leeds.
NB*
Av MPG is +40 so used for motorway trips, and also fits luggage (wife, kids, dog + other luggage too).

Errr; actually, no I didn't...
BUT - I did know about the lack of a roar (and was already mournful of losing it when handing over the keys).
I am just now wondering if I need to accept it, or tweak it!
I think if my memory serves me Techart do an exhaust for the diesels, remember hearing a sound clip on there website

Welcome to the Porsche Forum. You'll have worked out by now that the Panny Diesel isn't a halo car for many contributors on here!!
If Porsche themselves don't provide a retrofit Sports Exhaust as an option then you may well be jiggered as the warranty (once past 2 years old) will require the fitment of Porsche parts only. It's worth talking to Techart as someone suggested because their parts are sometimes Porsche approved.
I hope you're enjoying the Panny in other respects. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Great road presence!!
