I'm looking at some vintage pork and the build record shows the interior as Option Code: 99 (which I believe to mean "special wish" aka special order. The owner tells me that the interior was Black Skai but try as I might, I cannot get to the bottom of what this is!

Is Skai a synthetic leather? Is it a cloth? Is it a early version of alcantara?

The car is mid 70s and when I saw 99, I was hoping the special wish may have been one of the groovy plaids biggrin

Can anyone shed any light on what Skai is?

Skai appears to be a German company specialising in various coverings/skins/upholstery.

They also do upholstery for cars.

Take a look at http://www.skai.com/flashseite_8bilder.asp?area=ha...

This might be what the spec is referring to, but only my assumption.

Thanks Pete - I think you've got something there.
