Will take a look. £195 grand looks the same asking price for Monkey's car when it was advertised before.

Eh? Just checked www.dicklovett.co.uk and there's nothing to say it's not still for sale?

You're right mate. It's still there. When I searched earlier came up with just two GT3RS but not Monkeys. My mistake. Good on you to help. Will call DL.

it's 190k - i believe the last one sold went for circa 170k, and now for sale at another trader for 195k. good luck.

£195K? Staggering! We are doing a grand designs style conversion of an old farm building and for what that is costing, I would still come up short on this car!

Because he bought a stunning car, enjoyed it immensely and is now going to score a huge profit for his trouble.

He's the smartest monkey in the world. No other chimp would have realised they could make serious profit on the 4.0.

..He's also got a £100K financed on it, and being able to cash out and put 50 large in your pocket would do very nicely indeed.. good luck to him, he took the risk buying it, and if you shoulder the risk you deserve the reward.. !

Shirely when you have driven just about everything fast on the planet and you choose a RS 4.0 for your personal car and get it mainly on finance , taking all that risk , ........ the money profit will be a bonus but the real pleasure will have been having the car ......and knowing you have owned one of the finest Pork ever built ....

Or do I have rose tinted glasses ......?

cool

and hes being sensible as i suspect the window for these trading at a significant profit over list wont last for a whole lot longer.

Correct. As the 2013 GT3 looks almost complete and is rumoured to be on the stand at Geneva in Spring, it's only a matter of time before the specs are out showing that the standard 991 GT3 will out perform the outgoing 4.0 RS on track.

If it's there in the first place. It hasn't sold in 2 months, so by my books there isn't the demand for that car at that price.

He's been bold enough in the past to punt up large for cars and gone down the tube for thousands (Gallardo speculation anyone?).

Every dog/monkey has his day and Chris's has arrived.

After interest payments, bargaining and D Lovetts share there may not be quite as much in his back pocket as predicted on here but good luck to Mr H all the same

The more he makes on this the more exciting the next purchase will be for us all to read about beer

Judging by his last (splendid) video he could easily sink the profits into his Rangey and buying a trailer with tyres that don't puncture biggrin

Im sure many of you will remember 1990 and the hype for new cars.
remember the SL- even a 300sl was commanding a premium. the waiting list was 3 years. my dad missed the boat but my school friends dad cleared an easy £20k premium selling his 500SL when it arrived on his driveway.

Dare i mention the Porsche 911 speedster (orginal 3.2) - they were bought for maybe £60-70k back then (correct me might be less?) and they were in the back of autotrader, one reputedly selling for £200k, Aston Martin Zagatos £170ish new I think were being offered for sale at £750k... Ohh My dads freind had 2 Anniverssary Countaches - he could have sold them on for double the list price easily back in 1990... i dont need remind people wat F40s were trading for back then...

I think the problem is that the market place now has too many versions/ derivatives of cars being made. there are too many special editions and in particular of porsches. Therefore if i had to put 2 porsche's in my garage that were going to go up in value, it would be a 959 and Carrera GT.

Well until the car is sold, there is no profit to speak of.
