So many colour/roof/wheel combos to choose from and the configurator doesn't really do certain colours justice. And that's before we start on the interior.

My current favourites:

GT Silver with a red roof and 20" Carerra S alloys.

Stefan's Platinum Silver car with a brown roof and satin rims (and of course those fantastic PCCB's).

I saw a yellow one with black wheels and a black top the other day out and about - stunning!

mmmmm, sounds 'lovely'wobble

I think our versions of 'stunning' may differ.

Grey works really well, classy, especially with titanium wheels. Superb looking car.

Lovely cars. That big black plastic air intake is a let down though... definitely needs painting.

No. I think you'll find they are lovely cars.

But the intake needs painting and the wing mirrors look awful, especially compared to the gen 1 987's which were beautiful.

I have to say that the 981 is a fantastic looking car. Really impressed with it.

Only small criticism are the outrageously large 20" wheels. In every picture I have looked at so far I find your eyes are drawn straight to the wheels.I thought it was just me , but everyone I talk to ( non Porsche enthusiasts, I must add ) say the same.

I am not trying to slag off anyone's car that has them fitted, as it is only an opinion of course. And those that have ordered them obviously think they are brill !

But overall , the car is a winner I would say

Glad I'm not the only one. Agree with your other examples too...

Thing is, what baffles me is that there are people speccing up 60k+ cars and they aren't giving the dealer a couple of hundred to have the intakes done in body colour.

When I went out for my test drive in the 981 it was the first thing I noticed and my dealer said is was easy to have them done; 'just ask'.

Hands down best colour for me, Guards red with black.

Classic Porsche winning combination, you made the right choice and your car will still be a desirable purchase in ten years time, unlike many of the fashion of the hour combinations smile

I was really impressed, the interior really moves the game on from the 987 too. Enjoy.

the side vents are fine ..

I thought about getting them painted white, but I like the black against the white smile

Yes I was the same with the Guards Red, thought about fully colour coding the mirrors, air vents and rear valance - but thought it would look to much.

Like you say, the car needs a bit of black contrast, so I limited myself to red roll over hoops behind the seats!

Looks nice in the pictures though.....

The black vents are fine, you need to break up the expanse of colour to define the design and shown the depth of the intake. It's called car design! I love them all, a fantastic looking car which has evolved the boxster into super car looks territory. Jealous

I would personally paint the vents and I have never understood the preoccupation with red (other than for body colour). Roof, interior? No, not for me.
I was once told about a 'stunning silver 3 litre Alfa GTV in silver.......red leather interior. NO, NO, Noooooooo (imo, of course)
