Hi. We have a 2005 cayenne turbo, wife has a bad neck and is pregnant and we are trying to find out if it's possible to automate the boot door as currently it hurts her neck to close it and baby, buggies etc not even arrived yet. Someone mentioned Sextons in Wandsworth may be able to help? Any ideas? Cheers

You might get more help in the Porsche forum - not all PH responses are as unhelpful as the above.

^ Actually, this isn't as flippant an answer as it sounds. Any conversion will be costly and a faff to sort out and it may just be easier to change the car.

If you really like the Cayenne, there are ones out there with power boots already fitted. You could just sell yours and buy one that already has one? (I promise I'm not saying this to be a smart arse; I'm seriously suggesting it.) smile

If an '05 Cayenne could be had with a power boot, it's certainly possible - the wiring will likely be there to plug it in so it would just be a case of getting the parts and fitting them. Don't expect it to be cheap though.

Use something like a walking stick to hook it and pull it down?

Hi, I don't think the power lift gate was an option till the face lifted version. I had a 2005 cayenne and have now switched to a 2009 model with power lift gate and it makes a massive difference. A lot easier with kid things!
