997 issue after flat batter
Discussion
Hi,
I have a 2008 C4S Cab and on Fri I managed to leave the lights on to wake up to a flat battery on Sat morning? As a non-tech person I finally managed to solve the problem of gaining access to the bonnet for starting the car by following the instructions leaving me fairly pleased with myself!
However since running the car again I have found that a few of the services are not working on the car - the indicators, the horn, wipers and the full beam. Other things are fine. I seem to remember this happening on a Range Rover I had in the past that had a failed battery so am wondering if it's something to do with the computer shutting services down as the battery loses energy.
Has anyone else experience of this? If so is it something that will recover on its own, is it something I need to reset or have I really cocked up and left myself with a bigger problem.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Ben

It was attached initially in footwell so we could free up the boot. Do you know is all of these services are linked? No idea how to check a fuse but hey it's Sunday maybe I can investigate. If not a fuse could it be anything else obvious? Also wouldn't a blown fuse show as a fault on the dash?
I'm not sure if a blown fuse would show on the dash as an error, unless it was for airbag, oil anything like that. The reason it could be a fuse is that it is affecting several things which are controlled by different relays but probably a common fuse. Im no expert but its worth checking before you pay to have it diagnosed as that
Ok so I have now checked the fuse panel in the footwell and read the booklet re which fuse relates to which services. Unfortunately none of the affected features are listed meaning there must be another fuse box somewhere else? Either that or it's not a fuse!! Any other ideas would be appreciated.
So to confirm I'm currently without
Wipers
Indicators
Full beam
Horn

Try disconnecting the battery for a short time and reconnecting?
In life often the most simple suggestions provide the best solutions. The car is once again great and problem resolved. A little blast down some country lanes has confirmed the sports exhaust is still producing a tone that brings a smile to my face and all is well in the world of my C4S 997
Many thanks
