I am looking at going down this route, just trying to put together what its all going to cost. Some help from owners would be great.

I'm looking at a 07/57plate 20-40kmls 997Turbo that will have had its 4yr major service. I'm looking for a private sale and then either go independant or warranty/opc servicing.

Porsche standard prices 2yr interval:-
£700 Minor
£1250 Major
£150 Brake Fluid change

Warranty:-
111point check and £1200 per year or £2400 for 2yrs ?

Are the radiators a serviceable item and how often do they need changing ? I'm guessing it might be stones that are the issue.

When do Porsche recommend a disc/pad replacement ? I've read that to keep the car in warranty everything has to be in acceptable condition to Porsche. From my experience on the M3, I changed the discs/pads at 25k.

What about diff/gearbox oil changes, are they part of the major ?

Clutches seem to get replaced at 20-30k mls, how much roughly to do one of those ?

Thanks

I thought the Minor service was only £550 at OPC. The independents are around £270 for a minor, £425 for a major, £70 for a brake fuild (glos)

111point check was around £206 for me then 2 year warranty was around £2050

Radiators are covered by the warranty (according to OPC byfleet) but not if fatally hit by birds or stones. Its also a big leaf collector so good idea to have an inspection - I found a dead bird in mine!

Depends whose is driving and where it is stored. It will be usually maximum wear limit of 2mm below original (32mm original?). Never replaced the M3 brakes in 33k, but had replace M6 brakes at 21k due to corrosion. Porsche PCCBs should last >90k

Not sure but ....

I would hope the clutch would last 60k or longer! Independent cost is around £600-800. Not sure on OPC cost, however £3800ish (?) following a quick search but that sounds outrageous!

Thanks, must have mis-typed the minor. I was looking at a similar page when I started the post.

I've seen quite a few ads where clutches have been replaced 20-30k mls (997 Turbo that is). Most sports cars its around the 50k mark but with 500bhp I expected less.

Inclined to go for a 111point opc check on purchase and then independant.

Yes. I have done exactly the same. Get the 111 point check, save on the opc warranty and then use indys. I have had a warranties previously on all my performance cars and never claimed. Usually about a grand per year - these cars have not been garage queens and I have driven them all within an inch of their lives, but always warned them up properly and serviced them accordingly. They are german, they should not break easily!
