Real difference in HP 911 SC
Discussion
30 years on it makes little difference. Current condition is everything on a car like this. Interestingly there is plenty of anecdotal evidence to say that the 3.0 litre engine holds its power better than the later 3.2. I had my 204 hp SC on Bob Watson's dyno a couple of years ago and it gave 210 hp. I've driven a few 3.2s and they seem quite different in their power delivery - more subdued and definitely less peaky. I also owned an earlier C3.0 and that felt exactly like my current SC, free revving and quite peaky. Those engines were rated at 200 hp when new. That car also out dragged a friend's 3.2 on the motorway which at the time I thought was surprising.

It also pays to know that as much maligned as the 915 gearbox is it has less rotating mass than the G50 helping the engine rev more freely. Of course, it'll rev really free when you've missed that downshift anyway.
haha i drove a paul stephens retro with the 3.0 engine few yrs back (the one thats for sale now in white) and it was on songWhatever you're willing to pay for it. One man's nicely restored is another mans quick respray and filler job. The SCs are seen as the poor man's air-cooled 911, unfairly in my eyes, but a fact demonstrated in the values too.
The other point to consider is that a seemingly well looked after 100k SC with a lot of paperwork isn't worth a great deal more than one with some larger jobs on the horizon. The well maintained one will sell a lot more easily, but won't reflect anywhere near the extra value spent on the car in engine/gearbox rebuilds, bodywork, SSEs, suspension, interior, etc.

Ok just a fair estimate will do if u dont mind? The other point to consider is that a seemingly well looked after 100k SC with a lot of paperwork isn't worth a great deal more than one with some larger jobs on the horizon. Honestly, whatever you're willing to pay for it. With that mileage it could be anywhere between £8k and £20k, depending on how much you value its current condition, the previous work and any potential jobs going forward. I'm sure any number of people here could pluck a figure of the air based on your stated facts that it's a lower powered SC with 115k miles and it's well looked after.
£11k. There, I said it.

Mate you keep starting threads asking the same questions (no offence intended), ie what's this worth, what's that worth?
It's the same answers you were given when you were posting under bridey0 asking about 2.7 & 3.0 carreras.
As for asking about hp figures of SC's it's all there on wiki, you might want to join up to impact bumpers as well.
I suggested you read the PH profile on my SC on some other thread & that tells you a lot that you need to look out for, oh & by the way, that sold 18hrs after going up for sale, the day before new years eve, for the full asking price of 25.5k.
Brewsterbear gives the same advice, it's worth whatever someone's willing to pay, so without seeing the car you're on about (& without knowing your comfortable limit on price) it's impossible to say.
Just do the seller a favour, if you decide it isn't worth what he's asking, bow out graciously.
& try to resist the urge to come on the Internet & start false rumours about it being a cut & shut

Very rare though and mine cost me 10k 8 years ago i did a bit of sprucing up etc and sold for 11.5k i think.
I am after another actually to compliment the GT2, and would be looking at paying 15k for a solid one i guess.
That's the thing isn't it? After being the "unloved" one for so long there are just so few good 'uns about. Then there's the fact that most that have had a "proper" restoration have often had it done in conjunction with a back date.I am after another actually to compliment the GT2, and would be looking at paying 15k for a solid one i guess.
Must be said it would compliment a modern GTx 911 perfectly though-great garage that would be!

I'm actually thinking of selling my 82 SC due to lack of use. It's original, mint condition, fully documented history, very low mileage etc. and I'd be wanting £20k to part with it today. Now that's either expensive or a bargain depending on your point of view.
Personally i think 20k too much for a private sale, especially when expensive garages such as SCOM have one for sale cheaper coupled with their fantastic warranty likewise for Paul Stephens. If your lucky you can pick up a rather nice g50 3.2C for around late teens 20k.........
I personally have no preference for an SC or a 3.2, had both.
Its just the 3.2c with motronic/G50/better albeit still shoite ventilation etc will always command a premium i'm afraid..

uktm's car is supposed to be very nice & original though, & that's the whole point-there are so few good ones left they're going to start pushing the prices up soon.If your lucky you can pick up a rather nice g50 3.2C for around late teens 20k..........
The low mileage early SC on eBay didn't make the reserve, but it got bid up to 19,900 & that was in the depths of winter too.
But, having said that, I still think it means nowt whether it's a 3.2, early SC or late, 2.7 or carrera 3.0-they're all impact bumper 911s & everyone knows that to get one minted up (the works) is going to be 30 grand plus.
So buy one that's been restored (& I mean restoration not a respray & & a wheel refurb!) for below 30 grand & as well as getting a great car that can be used for another 30 years you're quids in, or at least it'll be cheaper than buying a shed & doing it up yourself!
