Lovely 996 Turbo?? (sorry not up to speed on my Porsche models) cruising around Milton Keynes this evening around 6.30pm. Seemed like you definitely wanted to play with my Cerbera and my pals Cerbera. Shame we had to be somewhere, or we would have loved to have demonstrated to you the power of an AJP8

Sir, i fear your fellow Porsche drivers do not follow this piece of advice at all, judging by the recent poor attempts of 3 (yes three) Porkers to even keep up with me let alone overtake

x2 911's (sorry not too sure of the model types but they were both new ones) and a boxster (no contest with this one really). What tends to happen echoes the Top Gear scene a few weeks ago - the porkers v quick at lower speeds (0-60ish) but once we get to 80+ then the Cerb really takes over.

"Since friday, every time i go out in the Cerb it takes a good 20 minutes before the speedo and milometer decide to work! I don't think it's just coincidence that i was 3 miles off clocking 30,000 when this strange phenomenon started, so i hope things will sort themselves out by themselves, unless anyone knows of a quick simple fix?"

"Here is a list of my problems so far in 11 days.
Fan not switching off - remedy - rag out the wires!
Windows doing crazy things - normal I'm told.
Door switch gone - Alarm going crazy.
Indicators failed - loose wire near alarm box.
Bonnet catch snapped - new one on its way.
Loud clicking under car when turning left or right - yet to find it.
Believe me I have covered over 1000 miles and during that ALL of the above problems have occurred."
I'd ask for an update but I doubt we'd have the patience to read it all.
As for the Clarkson video, all I can say is that on the road it's a different story as the aero can't work long enough. I've given up 'playing' with TVRs, not worth the fuel.

Given up playing....... a waste of fuel? I suppose it must get frustrating for you - all that fuel and only coming second

Turbobloke has a 400bhp + lightened Turbo 2 so his claims are not all hot air. Besides, playing with other cars on the public road is very irresponsible.
Makes far more sense to compare them in relative safety in controlled conditions at a track day or Vmax run (bruntingthorpe) - the loser can then buy a pint for the winner and they can all be friends.
Check the Vmax forum to see what Cerbs have done vs Porsches.
When it comes to the twisties and the driving, a track day is interesting. But you don't see that many Cerbs compared to 911s so comparisons are difficult.

Having owned a succession of TVRs, last one being a 4.5 Cerbera, my own personal conclusion is they are very nice for what they are but the GT3 is sooooo much more complete a car, soooo much more stable at 150mph, it is nonsensical to even compare them.
TVR is the cheap one you buy until you are "mature" enough to afford/appreciate the real mccoy, and then you buy the Porsche. Simple as that. For me, anyway!
