As the title says. Looking at a 944 trackday toy, but I then need a trailer.
I dont know anything about the do's and dont's of buying one, so any advice on what type I should look for (good makes?) and how much to pay for a decent used example ?

Thanks

A good used brian james will be 1500 pounds upwards. You'll always get your cash back on it when you need to sell it.

I'd agree that £1500 is a sensible budget but there's a variety of decent makes. Here's a few:
Ifor William
Bateson
Brian James
Brenderup
Fountain
PRG

Make sure that you get it serviced/checked over, that you're licensed to drive it, the car balances on it OK (maximum nose weight on the ball hitch is usually specified as 85-100kgs), that you have decent straps (only around £50-75 for a set of 4) and that your tow car is rated for the towed weight and you don't exceed the gross train weight.

^^^^ What they said,

I'd just add that Brian james go for almost as much used as they do new.

Maybe £1000-£1200 on ebay whereas if you can buy a new one through a business (saving the vat) you can get one for around £1500. No brainer really.

Oh and always remember to nip the jockey wheel pinch bolt up nice and tight when you set off. wink

Thanks Guy's.

Have a Grand Cherokee with a decent looking tow hook on it already.
