without affecting electrics adversely?

I have finally found what could be the right car, but for one reason, the seats.

I am picky and have been looking for ages for a low mileage turbo with the sports seats. I think they look better, are comfier (IMO) and I am led to believe (from a fellow owner) offer a bit more room in the back for my 5 month old daughter to grow into.

There is a possibility of swapping the standard electric memory seats for crested sport seats from a similar mileage car. However, the specialist is concerned that it could affect the electrical systems, ECU, airbag etc... I have no idea if this is the case.

Has anyone experience of doing this, what it would involve and whether there is any risk?

Any garage that could legitimately call themselves a specialist should have done it and know exactly what is involved I would say...

Not having done it but thinking about it you should be able to do it if you made the seats a hybrid of what you have now, i.e keep all the electrics in your frame and swap the foams etc. Sports seats aren't generally fully electric.

It is an easy change - done this loads of time. Your specialist should have no issues.

Well, the problem doesnt appear to be getting the sports seats in the car, but swapping the memory seats back to the donor car. The looms are different, and the dealer would be left with a car with no seats, and not enough space for switches.

Was also told by JZM that the car would be a bit of a white elephant come resale. I am looking at buying some low mileage seats and storing the memory seats though, anyone know of a good pair?

Ah didn't read it all
U can swop the heated part no issue
U cannot swop the memory part unless you change the wiring - different do don't try as the cost of getting it to work would be stupid
We had the same prob before for the memory

I only read u wanted to put sport seats in yours
