Porsche Festival. Who's going....
Discussion
Chaps,
I'm doing the Track Day on the Friday, having a day out elsewhere on the Saturday and returning to enjoy the Sunday. I'm not doing the Monday as it clashes with the GTs at Thruxton and I do that every year.
So its a big weekend of petrolheaven for me!
Anyone else going to the Porsche Festival? Going to be there on the Sunday (Daz?). Anyone going to the Track Day?

I'll be there on the Monday giving hot laps to paying passengers in my GT3 as organised by the club (Think the money goes to cheeerity mate)
Looking forward to it as have never been before, and not sure what to expect.
Should give me enough of my Porsche fix for at least a few days though !!!!

Hi Don, yes booked for the friday trackday... i am not sure how much i will be driving as it looks to be more of a social event than normal.
This really should be a special weekend
Well, I'll look forward to having a chat...but I sure as anything will be driving! I want my money's worth of tyre and pad damage!
It does all sound fun doesn't it! I'll have to take my portable Porsche washing kit with me so as not to let the side down...

I plan to be there on Sunday to enjoy the gathering, and will join the PCGB 993 Register display after the attempt on the record number on track - needs a very early start! I'll also take part in the parade lap. I'll look out for other PH-ers and hope to meet some of the regular contributers to this forum.
I'm not yet ready to take to the track in a meaningful way - I want to get some advanced instruction before I do that, especially on a skid pad. I don't want my first attempt to catch a wayward tailslide to be at speed on a track where I might side-swipe someone else!
BTW, I've changed my log-in name, mainly to stop using my email name 'katim', so if the moniker looks new, it doesn't conceal a newbie.

Tempted to come if the weather is OK. Where can I park the Ultima?
Well South Bank is always a good place to watch the action. Drive upto the gate, pay a few quid extra and drive straight in. Also popular in inclement weather, as you cna watch the race from your car...

Well I'm tempted to go, not sure what the best day is Don't fancy getting stuck in bank holiday traffic though

Hi don , clubsport ...I'll be at the trackday , black 964RS , reg N365JDM , going carefully. will also be there on Sun and Mon. The English summer should deliver the usual wetness to turn parking areas into a mud slalom...yuk...so will defo fit the semi slicks
See you there...
If a red Boxster is a bit slow getting out of your way, forgive me! There again...if I'm in yer mirrors...
