Couple of Cayman (R) questions
Discussion
Daft questions I'm sure, but has anyone else experienced this? For some reason, everytime I go out for a fairly length drive, the front right of my bumper has a lot of dirt/dust build up, yet the other side doesn't. I have had a concern about water leaking from the air-con unit (or something else) recently, but never got to the bottom of it. Maybe it is just where the water channels down the car, but seems odd it is always on that side? Picture attached:

Also, does anyone find the steering on the Cayman very light at the front? I definately need more experience in the car, but find holding on with both hands over uneven surfaces is essential to keep the steering wheel straight, it is incredibly light which makes the car feel a little understeery, even though it holds fine?

Cant say that I've noticed the dust build up when I've been out for a long drive. My car is black so perhaps if it's there less visible but will check next time.
Was it raining or dry when you get this?
As to the steering, I can easily drive one handed although I must admit I usually always have 2 hands on the wheel so not noticed any lightness/instability you mentioned.

Don't know about the R or on wider tyres, but I found that the feedback on the standard 17 wheels was a lot more than I was used to on production cars (with over damped power steering). On poor surfaces, just let the car "feel its way along" and try not to be over critical in correction.
It took me many months to master this in a Caterham Seven that I used to own as even the smallest road blemish would set the steering wheel twitching. But hold a little less forcefully and the car behaves.
YMMV

It is a dust/dirt mark, not burning, but only really appears on the one side. From memory, have only noticed it after wet driving, but then it hasn't been dry enough recently to test this theory, maybe over the weekend. Just looks odd that it happens on that side mainly, even though everything matches both sides!
