Not bad actually. Just waiting for the blog report to be written and uploaded but here's the video of the first race:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgPDsESLnyg

The second is uploading now.

I qualified badly, never finding clear laps (slower cars or spinners etc) - even my best lap was hampered a little towards the end and my next best was way off what I was capable of. I qualified 10th and 14th, and finished 6th in both races - quite a decent result really. Great weather all day too!

Some nice overtakes there Marcus as you fight your way up the pack. smile Which car was smoking near the end and was it putting down any slippery stuff?

It was Mark Proctor's 993 - it seemed to put some oil down (sending Andy Purdie off at Clervaux but he managed to get back on and not lose a place) when it first started smoking, then virtually stop doing so, despite the smoke continuing. I heard later that he had an engine mount let go, which was fixed for race two.

Here's the video of Race Two, where I went from 14th to 6th in a race of two halves...

Thanks for your comment, but I didn't need to think about it - I proved it. Finished 4 and 8 places in front of where I started in the 2 races respectively. Hardly mind boggling smile

You're right yet again, not only proving that, but proving to all of us what a race God you really are.
Have you ever thought about jumping out of the 'boxster' and diving into F1?. Would have thought you'd be in high demand, confidence and self belief being so important.
Have you always been this good or has it taken a while to achieve your current , stratospheric driving level ?.

ive raced with the porsche club since 2005 in porsche open, and if you look at the spec of the cars in porsche club which ran along side the times they do are phenomenal. its been 1 of the most competative series for 20 plus years, marcus is 1 of the very top drivers. why isnt he in f1 because the 1 thing that gets you too the top in motorsport is money obviously along with talent. if you aint got the cash you wont get there. lewis hamiltons dad had 3 jobs and id say hes got enough "talent" to get there without the cash if you didnt need it!
why are you havin a go at a guy that has a go and he will win once the cars sorted as will ben in the sister car. they have both won in the past in there old cars

I wouldn't read anything into it, standard racing driver book of excuses. Mark is right both Marcus and Ben would be racing at the front if the performance disparities between the boxster and the 993/996 were not there. Its plain and clear for anyone to see how much quicker those cars are down the straights than the boxsters.

It's also plain to see that they are faster through the corners as they are a mid engined more modern race car. I think the parity is pretty much spot on.

The next races are at Oulton Park on Sat 11th August, anyone coming?

I for one am very interested to see if the 996's can keep winning there, I suspect other models have a decent chance of challenging for top spot.

Just wanted to say I'm racing at Croft in 7 weeks in a Boxster S, so the video is mega-useful (I've never been round Croft). Some good overtaking and you seem a very smooth driver, I enjoyed watching it.

Why not buy yourself a slot for a few races to see how you compare?
No doubt you would show all those currently without talent on the grid how it should be done.
