My L/h intercooler pipe from the turbo keeps blowing off !
Cars been remapped and and runs at 1 bar ( yr 2000 996 turbo)

I think the pipes worn and a new one would prob cure it
Anyone know the best place to buy one ?

Any advice would be great

Car is over boosting to 1.3 bar so I guess I've got other problems lol

Either the wastegates are seized or the control valve that controls them.

Try that for starters.

I had a problem with my Escort RS many years ago, the car ran with hesitation when under boost conditions and had a damaged brake hose.

I sent it to the ford dealership who said they would fix it. Got a call later to say it was knocking from inside the engine and needed a total strip for investigation. I went down there double quick to have a listen myself and yes i sounded sick.
I asked the dealer what they had done to my immaculate very low milage car and they said it was like that when they started it. I looked at the milage and the car had done over 14 miles while there. When I brought this to their attention I was told it was the rolling road after fixing the brake issue. I paid the bill and took the car under protest and made it 800yards before the con rod came through the side of the block.

I had an engineer strip the engine and prepare a report which I approached the dealer with and after some fierce discussion had them fit a new engine at their expense.

So what has this got to do with your intercooler hose blowing off???

When I got the car back with the new engine fitted, it was behaving exactly like it was when I sent it to the dealer. I went to an independent turbo car specialist in Kent who Immediately put a boost pressure gauge on it which showed massive over boost due to a stuck closed wastegate. The turbo pressure from the ford garage urchin taking my car out for a test drive/thrash bent the con rod which cracked an caused the knock.

So be careful and check the overboost problems.

Mine had been uprated a little tho whistlesmokin

Great story, but don't worry my cars not being driven and I'm personally fixing it !
Found a split hose going to the N75 valve so I've orded a new hose and an N75 valve
And some new intercooler O rings

Total cost just under £30 who says running a Porsche is expensive

Just a quick update

I fitted all the parts and also fitted new o rings To the intercooler hoses and the car now holds 1bar of boost
As it should and drives perfectly!

Thanks to mid Sussex Porsche centre for sorting the parts quickly
