993 - 996 - 997........?
Discussion
I know a lot of you guys are trying to sell your 996's now because of the soon delivered 997, so this points in the direction that the 996's resale price will fall through the floor.
But, as the 997 has taken so many design ideas from the 993- Interior, cola-bottle shape and most importantly the front end - do you think the 993 resales will solidify or drop just the same?
I know 996 owners we getting pi**ed off that their £55-£99K motors were being mistaken for the Boxter (Rememeber is Grandpappy well!!!)
This in mind I'm sure the real 911-ers who buy the 997 will be pleased to go back to the classic-ish shape.
I don't know wether 993 prices will maintain because plenty of folk won't be able to afford the new 997 but will want to have a car that looks similiar - the 993.
What d'ya think?

I got 56k for my 996 against a new 997 for delivery in November at £58,300 this seemed a no brainer.
I dopnt think prices will fall through the floor, in fact demand may increase if prices drop to make the car more accessable to a wider range of buyers. I think this is the effect that keeps decent 25-30k porsches almost depreciation proof.

I agree sounds like you have done a great deal there, just as a matter of interest how old/mileage etc was your 996 ?
