Hey,
I am just registering my car in Australia and I have been told that my vehicle must have the safety lip on the wheels. now I read somewhere that Porsche introduced the safety bead on the Fuch back in 1972 (its a safety feature that stops the rim coming off in the event of a blowout. Apparently Porsche introduced it when they stopped fitting tubed tyres). Mine is a 1985 911 with original alloys.
Does anyone have any written evidence of 911's fitted with Fuch wheels incorporating the saftey bead etc. covering this period??
If not I have to jack the car up, get the tyre taken off, take the wheel to the registry, put tyre back on, fit wheel and then take the car seperately, annoying as its a 3 hour queue each time.
Hopefully someone can help
