Trailer for Porsche 911 GT3 (997 Mk1)?
Discussion
I have a Brian James TT tailer that takes my (996) GT3 well. It is slighty unusual in that the wheels are under the deck so the deck itself is the widest part and I would think would fit through your garage door okay. It certainly went through mine okay but if you let me know how wide your door is I can measure it and check for you. I also ordered it with a folding towpole so despite having a long deck you can also knock a good metre plus off the length when you store it so that you can shut and lock the garage door once it is in there. Tows really nicely too.

perfect, thanks. I will get back to you!
I've got some measurements for you Tom. The bed itself measures 1960mm x 4310mm. As long as the car's wheelbase/track is within this (which your GT3 will be I believe) then it should fit okay. As for fitting it in the garage, the size of the trailer is 1960mm (since the wheels are underneath the width of the trailer is the same as the width of the deck) and the length is 5750mm. With the towpole folded up the length drops to 4850mm. So if your garage has a standard 7ft door and is 4.9 metres or more in length then you should be able to fit it in the garage without a problem.
I agree a trailer with the wheels 'in board' of the sides is your only route....you will also need some long ramps or a very good tilt bed to stop the car grounding out on the front end as you load/ unload it. Alternatively a selection of wooden chocks will help alleviate scraping the front end.

Hi,
im looking for a trailer for my GT3, but not sure where to start, can anyone advise what would work?
It needs to be slim as the Garage door is not much wider that the car!
Thanks Tom
Really? Half the fun of trackdays (especially in Europe) is the fantastic drives there and back. Though I guess if you wanted to fit slicks or have extreme geo. or other work done this would be somewhat less fun. 50% of the pleasure of GTx cars is their road presence and ability IMHO. Wales will not be the same for me until my garage has another Mezger in it!im looking for a trailer for my GT3, but not sure where to start, can anyone advise what would work?

I have one of these that fits my 308 on it easily and is narrow enough for a single garage. Has a folding hitch so it fits in a short single garage.
No sniggering - he said beaver...
