Inspections in Essex?
Discussion
I have finally a 996 turbo that may be worth a full inspection. The search function isn't working and I was wondering what alternatives to Peter Morgan there are in the area? Its a private purchase and my first Porsche which I have been saving a long time for, so I want it to be as right as it can be. I would really like ninexcellence to do it but they're just too far. Who else is good in the area?
I was also wondering how I can check the plate and spec it should have as I read on the site some time ago there is a way of checking?
Finally, as I have been looking for so long and failed, the spec isnt exactly what I want, but the things I wanted can be changed (I hope). Aluminium handbrake and gear lever, ultimately the sports seats are things I was looking for. However, I wanted low owners and mileage so I can compromise. Are these things easily done?

Gary Harris is the Peter Morgan rep for Essex.
I'd always suggest getting it up in the air, for which it will need to go to a workshop.
The guys at AUtostrasse near Colchester have been around since the eighties.
DSD Motorwerks in Brentwood. The owner runs a 100k mile 996 Turbo.
Autostrasse did a major service not long ago. I would be surprised knowing their reputation if much mechanically was wrong. I would like to know about accident damage, rev ranges, operating hours type stuff. No harm in the mechanicals being checked though!I'd always suggest getting it up in the air, for which it will need to go to a workshop.

I would hope there would be no chance of 'conflict of interests' as they would be checking a clients car.
The chap selling seems a nice guy but it's 340 mile round trip so need to get thinsg lined up, so of I like the car things are ready to go.
So, if Peter Morgan does an inspection, although no guarantee, I should find that if the car checks out I should be as safe as possible with a private sale?
I understand no warranty with the car, and mistakes can be made, but things like hpi, crash damage and finance will be checked out?
