Just posting something in one of the general forums about a nice car park lady who (I think) was very jobsworth with me basically because I was in a nice car. A few posts later someone points out it's a 911. Cue 40 posts saying "fking arrogant smug 911 driver". Crikey.

Think I'll retreat back to here until the flames die down. Is this normal on PH? I remember it being much gentler in the TVR-centric days?

Were you parked illegally ? (yes or no)
Did you get a ticket ? (yes or no)

If the answer is two yes's then withoput wanting to cause offence, you're only getting whats expected .....

thats life out there in big bad general forum world .....

in here we'd have wanted to know if you used such phrases as:

I am much richer than yeeow

You know I pay your wages right ?? As a taxpayer, YOU work for ME ...

You only do this job because you're to fat / short / stupid to be a copper ... heck, or even a PCSO ...

Then we would praise you for you would without doubt be a true Porsche brand champion ....

All Hail The King ....

I'm a regular here smile

And having now read the original thread in General Gassing, all I can say is, he is indeed getting what he asked for, and must have expected, coming in here bleating and expecting sympathy is a tad weak though, especially as he MUST be a well built bearded MD ......

But I couldn't resist. I got in and backed my car up all the way round and leant out of the window and said "Hey, I bet this wouldn't have happened if I'd been in my crappy old Renault Laguna, would it?"

And then drove (with ironically, my disabled daughter with me) home in my shiny carpark attendant provoking car from the teutonic mills of Stuttgart. If you know what I mean. Must have made her day to find one of *them* in what she thought was an illegal spot.
Was it really needed?

Excellent, OP to now be ruined in two forums simultaneously, does that make it a DP or spitroast ?

If you really want to 'ruin me in two forums', you go ahead - if you really get off on that sort of thing, who am I to stop you having your fun.

Selective quoting is hardly fair - you missed out the CP attendant being really quite jobsworth...

Anyway, it's not a big deal - I was just slightly bemused by the sheer venom unleashed for what was a pretty innocent story - I didn't have a massive go at her or get aggressive/violent/whatever. Just surprised that people wanted to jump on me from a tall building so much. Hey ho.

Nope. But it made me smile a bit. She was being a bit jobsworth and I'm pretty certain some of that was driven by me being in a 911. I could of course be wrong - sue me.

My honest critique as a reader of the OP is that it was going really well before the hint about the car. I doubt very much the bint was targetting any particular car especially since porsches are everywhere and looking decidedly normal.

At that point it sounded a bit like a brag and whilst it washed over me, those scallywags in GG were always going to tear you apart. Shame it got moved, SPL may have given more quarter.

I'd definitely have had fun winding her up by making her write the ticket smile

Meh - no argument here. Certainly not the first time I've done it...

The irony is that I genuinely was trying to write something amusing for people to read. Not inclined to do it again, that's for sure.

As I said in t'other thread they've been hard on you albeit that response does seem to be the norm at the moment ...

I posted a rant about cars marked up like police cars slowing us all down only to be beaten to a pulp by almost every post that followed wink

Gawd the time's I've clocked policealike in the mirrors pacing me way back, slowed down, waited for some old astra with roofbars or taxi sign on to come past. Or you catch up with the hivis rear and spend ages discovering it's some "highway maintenance" or hato thing.

Surely nobody would disagree with that?

I like the fact that I get the porsche salute on a regular basis. It means I don't have to answer the usual questions I get with the ultima ( is a Lambo? How many miles to the gallon? Isn't fast?)

Keep up the good work of annoying the peasants. Soon they won't even be able to afford to drive ...

I'll get my coat now .... getmecoat

It's odd how some threads just catch fire. I posted something years ago when someone gave me a parking ticket in a 20 minute stay Loading Only slot and the PCSO responsible had basically written down an incorrect arrival time nicely calculated to have me there for the 20 minutes. Having gone to the local cops and said 'some mistake, surely' and got nowhere, I got the CCTV evidence that proved I was only there for 5-10 minutes before the ticket, sent that to the court and heard nothing more. I had people accusing me of Perversion of the Course of Justice and all sorts. There were plenty of voices of sanity, but some of the pro-police brigade absolutely laid into me, essentially because I had stated that I believed the PCSO lied and had an ulterior motive. (Lots of cars there - only one with a ticket and that's the shiny prestige model) Threatening to contact my local CPS and encourage them to charge me - all sorts. Absolutely unbelievable.

In that case it all definitely kicked off when I said I was in a certain model of car. Coincidence?

Tbh I think you were right to challenge her but, imo, there's knowing when to stop when you've 'won' the point.

Similarly, I'm puzzled what you thought to gain by starting this thread.
