Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to install a/c on a 944 s2 that didn't have it factory fitted. How big / expensive a job would this be?

Thanks

Will

Anything's possible at a price but I would expect for something that looks like the factory instal you'll be looking at a few grand.

I investigated this with a couple of the specialists when I got my Lux. He reckoned that the wiring wasn't part of the loom so you'd need to install the wiring from scratch. Plenty of bits around so aside from a new condensor & dryer then the rest can be s/h. Probably a limited market for the bits so not too much money.
As for labour it is a dash out job & possible dismantling in the engine bay to get pipework in. So could 8-10 hours at least.

There was an article in 911 & Porsche World a few years back about a guy who had done it to both a 944 and a 968. Involved a complete dash removal from memory, but he managed to do it all himself.

Excellent, I will try to get that copy of 911 and PW. If you had the edition that would be amazing;-)

Too big and too expensive, buy a car with it already fitted.
