were thinking about a 987 as a sunny day fun car , we already have a daily car on a normal policy and a classic car that earns no ncb but theyre willing to write a letter saying weve had no bother

will any insurer be able to help with the ncb situation?

not really intrested in multi car policys as the other cars are random and i expect wouldnt be sensibly priced on a multi car

39 yr old , no points /accidents etc

I struggled to find someone to mirror, a couple of companies would if I had the other policy with them which I didn't, it's on file I had NCB elsewhere and was used with the underwriters to get a better price, this through Flux.

I concur with above, I have an AM Vantage, Z4, VXR Astra and a 5 series on Admiral multi car and a Boxster 981 will be joining at Xmas.

Admiral have consistently beaten everybody else for the last three years and their service has proven excellent. Don't write them off without a try smile good luck.

Again, we've just switched to Admiral Multi car. Wife's renewal of A3 cab came in at £650 with Direct Line, my E350 CDI came in at around the same, and then they wanted £1250 to insure the soon to be coming 981. All in for all three cars with Admiral was £1350 !!! Both of us mid thirties with 3 years NCB. They even gave me 3 years NCB on the 981 meaning that the yearly policy came out at £620, and the other two cars were roughly half was Direct Line wanted!

Couldn't believe it!

The only odd thing was that I then asked could I pay monthly and then the quote went up to £2k!

Interesting - can you share how you managed to get them to give you the 3 years NCB on the 981?
I am getting the for Mrs Steve and it will represent an additional ( rather than a replacement) car, so any extra NCB will be welcome!

Sure, I did the quote online and then telephoned them. I said "Can you give me at least 1 years introductory NCB on the Porsche". He said "I can match your existing NCB on the Mercedes and give you 3 years". I said "thanks - that's great" while quickly getting out my debit card! He made notes on the system to that fact too. I couldn't believe how cheap it all was. In effect, compared to Direct Line we got the 981 insured for free.

I was with Swift Cover a few years back and got a second car and they mirrored my max NCD to a second policy.

Since then, they have been less competitive at renewal time and now have 2 totally independant policies with max NCD with 2 different Ins. companies.

Cheers thanks, sounds painless, I'll give it a go when it arrives.

Give pace ward a call, they mirrored for me. 997, range rover and BMW 130 for about 1100 annually. You get better rates with more cars than people on the policy, bear this in mind!

Admiral accepted my classic insurance letters stating no claims. I posted on here a few weeks ago. They were the only company that would - I tried many including the recommended insurers on the sticky post on this forum. Admiral were also cheapest.
