Well at least it makes the wheels "sit right" in the arches.

I assume the close up shot of the 'sports plus' button is a red herring? ie system completely passive so nothing to adjust electronically? Or did I miss something when I skimmed the text?

The loaner Boxster (manual) I had last week came with Sport and Sport Plus buttons, but I couldn't detect any difference in performance between them? Does that mean it is just a handling enhancement option, even on the base car?

Sure, so my point is that the button is nothing to do with this new option (or perhaps they are planning to bundle the new suspension with Sports Chrono? It does say something in the text about it being part of a more comprehensive pack).

I bet that is what will happen .. Porsche like to make you tick as many boxes as possible.

For example, no PTV without PASM.

i can't understand why anyone would want this? maybe i'm getting old but on a road car i want the suspension to be as comfortable as possible, whilst still being compliant! i was shocked at how bad a non PASM 987* was the other week... okay for the track fine, but wouldn't you just spend your £40-60k on a Cayman R or GT3 if tracks were your main interest?

  • i do realise people are say the 981 is much better ride than previous generation cars(I've still yet to try one)

my non PASM 981S with 19" wheels rides much much better than my RS60 (which had PASM and 19" wheels). Night and day difference.

So thay have decided to use all the bits from the Spyder :-)

Sounds nice to me, should make it look a load better also.

no doubt 20" wheels will also be required for the Sports chassis.

Blimey RS60 must be harsh then! as the 987 was much more "jiggly" than my 997

Never really find the spyder (19's, no pasm, sports suspension) that harsh. It feels like it has purpose, not soft.

Even on rough roads it may get 'jiggly' but the damping is excellent and stops it from being 'crashy' over the bumps.

In France on A roads or motorway, it is brilliant. Wouldn't need or want it any smoother.

My RS60 isn't that bad. It has improved after a good Geo though... But 981 ride is superior.

This new sport suspension will look stunning with a 30mm drop - biggest drop in history on a Boxster. No doubt LIFT SYSTEM will now also be available on the 981. More money Jam & Lewis here we go...

Next time we meet in person, take my 997 down a country road with the dampers in Normal, then again with them in "Sport".

I've yet to find a single road that suits the "Sport" setting for making progress. It's just too firm.

As a previous owner of a 997.2 C2S and a GTS I cannot agree with you more!

I would say that it's one of the key benefits of PDCC in the new 991 C2S. "Sport" setting on the PASM is now very compliant and comfortable.

agreed! whats even more annoying is on track sport is too soft!
