After a recent track day i have lost the centre crest badges from the rear wheels of my 996 C4S. It was a hot day and I think the adhesive became soft and they have flown off on track!
Does anyone know if its poss to get just the shield shaped crests rather than the whole centre cap? My wheels are colour coded so I dont want to go to the paint shop to get a centre cap matched in. Cheers smile

Hi, i don't know if it is possible to buy genuine Porsche badges but there are plenty on Ebay with no surround.

Cheers,

Matt

Also watching with interest as mine are delaminating and the OPC wont change them and they are on colour coded wheels too.

They are poorly made I spent £140 buying a new set within a week one had come off luckily I found it on the drive and when I checked the others were all loose. They are only held in place with a small blob of silicon. I reattached all 4 with a proper polyurethane adhesive.

Be wary of ones on eBay, many are copies. I bought some for my M3 and by the time I'd driven a mile I'd lost three as they were slightly looser than a real set purchased from BMW

Loads of copies about these days. Years ago I thought "It'll be great when someone tools up and produces these for less money", but all the ones I've seen are actually rubbish.

I even bought some from Design 911 once that looked washed out even when the colours were new.

Genuine Porsche is unfortunately the only choice really and they aren't daft, as we all know, so they don't sell just the crest.

If I had colour coded centres I'd buy some new genuine ones and carefully prise the crest off and stick it on my coloured ones with a good adhesive, as Barry has done above. Either that or I'd fit the older style metal ones with the Porsche badge embossed into them. You can have those powder coated and everything when the wheels get done.

It will be your wheels getting hot from the amount of breaking you do on track.
