Could only be described as an investment by using 'man maths'.
worst performer is a volvo S80 (19% value retained after 3 years). so you take your dorris to look at that, get her on side with a nice family car.
then BAM! show her this report & how you can't afford not to buy the porsche

another pointless debate!porsches are bought to enjoy if you can afford to spend £100k on a car then why not who cares how much it will lose it will still be a lot less than some other sports cars.
you could lose a lot more than £4k a year by smoking 40 a day
If a new 911 only lost £4k a year I'd have a few more than one.........you could lose a lot more than £4k a year by smoking 40 a day

Haha. I genuinely spend weeks or months coming very close to spending 130+ grand on a supercar. I get the wife (very reluctantly) semi-bought-in, we talk about how we can afford it, the compromises it'll entail, but that it's my dream and you only live once etc etc. To the wife's massive relief I end up buying something for 'only' 70k because I end up 'seeing sense' and being the 'mature' 38yr old that I am. If I didn't do this, I'd be stuck driving 25k cars the whole time!then BAM! show her this report & how you can't afford not to buy the porsche

Calling that an investment is not appropriate, in my view. Call it an emotional purchase, and the fact someone is willing to burn 30k cash like that is more akin to speculating on Facebook or Manchester United than "investing".
Not saying that buying a 991 is wrong, mind. If I had the financial "gravitas" I'd do it.

Great strategy!
