Hoping someone can help me on here. My old window motor had 4 prongs (black shroud) and for some reason there were two wires only going to it when I investigated with two wires taped up sat in the bottom of the door. Now the new door I have fitted (old one had a scrape along it....) has a motor (metal colour, more cylindrical) with only 2 prongs, yet I have 4 wires. It seems the second lot of blue wires I have going to the motor which are taped up are not part of a loom. It looks to be a separately routed bit of wiring from inside the car, to inside the door. Very odd indeed.

I'll hopefully be investigating more this weekend, as I need to re-wire some other bits like the electric wingmirror. The whole motor thing has got me confused as hell.

posted on 924 owners club but no response. I fear it might need the help of an auto electrician to find out what the two extra wires do that come in to the door.

Seems to be traditional on these motors for there to be lots of bullet connector joins, and chocolate blocks. biggrin

Well, after a thorough greasing up this morning (and me greasing the window mechs... biggrin) I have two fully working windows both up and down. Can only assume that spare wiring is just that "spare", so I shall leave it as it is now.

I do have a flaky passenger switch so looking out for a replacement for that!
