I am a motorcyclist and just gone through the same trauma. A national petition was compiled against the proposal. I forget the saviors name who implementented the lobby but it did get thrown out. Modifiction to motorbikes was deemed dangerous but the government had no facts to back this up, they did not do research into the effects to road safety by modified bikes therefore flawed.

If this is to happen to cars then maybe we have go down a similar route?

Only a matter of time IMO.

This was definitely on te cards as part of the EU. Look at the German's - nothing modified unless it has TUV approval.

The days of Tubi, Capristo exhausts and any modifications are numbered

If i'm otherwise mistaken - any part that doesn't have TUV type approval - is not legal in the event of either an insurance claim or equivalent 2 year TUV test

I think it's about time we had a referendum and come out of the blasted EC before it wrecks life as we know it, that is, if it's not too late.

I know it's a horrendous thing to say, but I'm glad I'm nearly an official pensioner, and I do feel slightly sorry for our kids.

Agree! If anyone has any of the above exhausts for a Ferrari 360, I'll take it off your hands for free, as long as you cover the postage. wink

Proof, if it were needed, that we are employing certifiable fkwits as politicians, both in the UK and the EC.

Also proof that we could make the economic savings we need as a nation simply by decimating the numbers employed in this sort of madness, they clearly have nothing worthwhile to do.

Way to much to read smile

However I did read a bit of the draft proposal and it seemed to indicate that MOT test would not start till the forth year... I'm starting to doubt myself now but isn't it the third year at the moment?

And you would test every two year instead of each year.

Did I read this correctly?
