Best front pads for Boxster S 986 - Ferodo DS2500's
Discussion
I had standard, then Pagid black pads on the front and even with braided hoses and no piston problems, the cold braking on my 2003 S was terrible, no bite and the need to stamp hard to get just a reasonable performance.
I recalled a pad I used on a different car - the Pagid DS2500 which was very good from cold up to high temps and can say they work very much better on the Boxster S than genuine Porsche or Pagid black.
It stops well now and once warmed up the pads only improve. I just need to fit some rears now if they exist
Lots of places quote for the 2.5/2.7 model which (usually I'm not sure if there are exceptions) has smaller calipers and disks, but finding some for the S was a nightmare.
Eventually I spoke to a very helpful guy at Circuit Supplies, he confirmed the pads' performance were very good and that they would fit the S, and were indeed different to the 2.5/2.7 (one place I phoned even said there was only one pad size for all 986's - I'd loved to have had the car on axle stands only to find out that wasn't true..)
They can be reached on 01525 385 888 - you have to telephone order as they don't have an order facility on their site.

Was £132.08 delivered when I ordered back in March this year. Well worth it for the extra safety.
