I fitted a new set of optional Sport Techno wheels yesterday just for a change and a mid life facelift before I sell it next year. They are much lighter than the standard and I like them. The car needs a bit of a polish, but it still cleans up ok.

Nice looking wheels. Expensive buggers too.
What spacer have you used in the rear ?

I'm running the OEM 17mm as recommended for the Sport Technos.

How much lighter are they than the standard hollow spokes, I always thought they were about the same?

Had the same on my X50.
They split opinion, but I preferred them to the standard wheels.

For the weight, see here -

They look great, must be a rare option from new as I havent spotted a car with them in the classifieds. How did you come across these?

According to the table, depending on part number of the standard (Turbo 2 hollow) wheels, they are at most 250g (F), and 400g (R) heavier than Techno's, so not much different. Some rears are the same weight. The 17mm spacers also need to be added in.

I bought the set used and had them refurbished. They probably owe me 1600.

A lot of money! Worth it over the standard turbo alloys ?

On the right car I too would happily pay 1600, its not like you cant sell them again and recover a majority of the cost. Are they identical in size to the stockers?

That's what I thought too. I bought them off some photos and when they turned up they weren't 100% as I would like them so I spent the extra to refurb them. I will put the standard turbo twists back on when I go to sell the car and sell these separately. They are the same size as standard, you just need to run spacers on the rear as they are also designed to fit narrow body cars.
